Plein Air Painting Workshops

Julia painting along the coast of southern CA.

Come join us as we paint the beautiful scenery on location each day. I will be teaching how to choose the subject or scene you will paint and how to simplify what you see into a dynamic, well-balanced composition. We will study elements and principles of design and explore color harmony, light source, and value relationships. During demonstrations, I will review the painting process from block-in to finish. Composition in photography and proper use of photographs as references will be discussed. These workshops will be fun, yet challenging - the best way to learn.
